Greece has awarded Putin with the Gold medal.

In Embassy of Greece in Russia the ceremony of transfer of the Gold medal of the Thracian university of Democritus awarded to the Russian President Vladimir Putin for outstanding activity for the benefit of regional stability and prosperity was held.

The rector of the university which has presented an award Stavros Tulupidis has said that the Russian leader promotes preservation of orthodox spirit of peacefulness and friendship, spirituality and culture of Hellenism, development of mutually advantageous relations between Russia and Greece all the time.

In a response the Russian Ambassador in Greece Andrey Maslov has expressed gratitude, has noted a big contribution of the university to development of the Russian-Greek humanitarian communications, advance of Russian and culture. It will be promoted by the opening planned for 2018 at the university of the Russian center in cooperation with Russian World Fund".
